I don’t know why I’m just now seeing this video. Wow.

Fairytale of New York
This song has been in my head for literally 3 weeks. I think it is the best Christmas song ever, followed by River by Joni Mitchell and Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon. I’m obviously excluding traditional Christmas songs – my personal favorite is Carol of the Bells.
Here is the video of Fairytale of New York by the Pogues. I love the Pogues. Shane MacGowan’s voice is so gritty and real. I want to sit down and have a drink with him.
Even though this is a Christmas song, its sentiments carry over to New Year’s too, and I’m still in a reflective mood. The final verse is just beautiful.
Philosophy of the World by The Shaggs
Must share.
Stuck
I’m stuck listening to the same music. Not that it’s bad or anything. I think it’s the best, that’s why I listen to it. But I just spoke with a friend who told me that there is a band named Deerhunter, and I thought he was talking about the movie, The Deer Hunter, starring Robert De Niro. Great movie. Came out in 1978, like most of the music I like. Wake up call?
So, for anyone out there who wants to expand my horizons, let me know. Please note, Robert Smith, I am not forsaking you. You come to me when my glass is full of wine.
With that, here’s something I found that I like. Crystal Fighters, At Home.
Jonsí
In keeping with my obsession with all things Icelandic, here are some video clips from Jonsí. He’s amazing.
I recently purchased Jonsí’s new album, Go. It’s more upbeat and faster than the Sigur Rós albums but just as magical.
And here is some footage of his live show. I really need to see this in person!
