Post A Day FAIL

Photo from

This photo made me laugh out loud, something about “disturbing the rocks” is just funny.  So is almost everything else on  Like this gem:

You may have noticed that after pledging to post every single day this year, I have already lost a few days.  Last week was plain awful, and this week, although we had 2 snow days, has been incredibly busy.  Every time I start working on something, another thing comes up.  C’est la vie.

I’m still going to try to post every day, though there might be a few hiccups here and there.  I definitely can’t cook all the time with my work schedule, and it’s taken me all day just to type this little post.  And, if I wasn’t so intent on explaining myself and my Post A Day 2011 FAIL, I wouldn’t be looking at this computer right now.  After the day I’ve had, this computer is very close to flying out my office window.  G’night!

In keeping with my obsession with all things Icelandic, here are some video clips from Jonsí. He’s amazing.

I recently purchased Jonsí’s new album, Go. It’s more upbeat and faster than the Sigur Rós albums but just as magical.

And here is some footage of his live show. I really need to see this in person!

Mixed Tapes!

Today I found this NYE Mixed Tape on Bitch Magazine‘s website.  This also led me to the most wonderful site I’ve seen on the internet in a long time:  Make your own mixed tape to upload on the interwebs!  There’s nothing better than a real mixed tape (or even CD), but in this age of sharing everything online, this is a cool site.

Here’s mine.  I’m obviously reminiscing.

Click here for the Bitch Magazine NYE Mixed Tape! Includes David Bowie, Built to Spill, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Cee-Lo, Flaming Lips, and more!

What is your favorite mixed tape?  Who gave it to you?  I remember one that I got in high school that included Toto, REO Speedwagon, and Blue Oyster Cult.  Wow.

And, how can you not love David Bowie?
